Eau de Parfum · 18% Made in: Kannauj, Uttar Pradesh. Most woody fragrances are composed for a European autumn and collapse into something sour by eleven in the morning in Chennai. This one starts from the opposite end: Haitian vetiver at a concentration high enough to survive heat, cut with cedar so it does not read as damp earth alone, and a black pepper top that burns off inside the first twenty minutes. It is a working scent. Two sprays at the collarbone hold through a full day at a desk, and it does not announce itself across a meeting room.

Store upright, away from direct sunlight and heat. Do not decant into metal. Spray onto skin rather than clothing: the notes turn on fabric and can stain silk.

Good, but start with the 30
Genuinely excellent vetiver and not at all the cheap grassy kind. Docking one star only because it is quite dry, almost austere, and I think people expecting something sweeter will bounce off it. Try the small bottle first.
Finally something that survives Chennai
I have given up on most woody scents because they go sour on me by lunch. This one is still there at seven in the evening and still smells like it did at nine. The pepper at the start is sharper than I expected but it settles fast.
